Hey friends! And welcome to Porch Talks—a little corner of the internet where we share our hearts, our homestead journey, and all the beautiful (and sometimes broken) moments in between.
We’re Maria and Trevor Hamlin, the husband and wife duo behind The Hammie Ranch. This dream was born from prayer, grit, and a whole lot of grace. After losing everything in a hurricane, we made a quiet but bold decision: to rebuild not just a life, but a way of living that is slow, intentional, faith-filled, and full of animals, gardens, and good coffee.
And so The Hammie Ranch began.
A ranch where we’ll raise goats, chickens, ducks, bees, Jersey cows, and one very special baby horse named Juniper Jean. A place where we’ll open our gates for others to experience life a little slower, a little simpler, and a whole lot sweeter.
But this dream has layers, and maybe you’ve been with us from the beginning.
Some of you remember Sweet Sunshine Co., our first brand, where I (Maria) designed sunny, soul-led apparel and jewelry meant to inspire joy and speak life over weary hearts. That spirit hasn’t gone anywhere. We’re not leaving it behind. We’re carrying it with us. As Sweet Sunshine Co. merges into The Hammie Ranch, its purpose remains the same: to shine light, speak truth, and bring beauty into the everyday.
We’ve also added something new:
☕️ Hammie Coffee Co.—our farm-stand coffee offering where every cup is crafted with love and our very own raw milk. It’s not a big city café. It’s a cozy corner of the ranch, where you’ll get a complimentary specialty coffee with your purchase from the farm store. Think honey lavender lattes with fresh-from-the-hive sweetness, cold brew with raw Jersey milk, and simple joy in a mason jar.

We’re still waiting on the land, and yes, the process has been full of plot twists. But we are trusting the One who led us to this dream. Even in the moments where it feels like everything is on pause, He gently reminds me:
"I am there, Maria."
And in His Word, He reminds us too:
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
For it will certainly come, it will not delay.”
